Life is a Gift and Deserves to Be Celebrated, Not Ended

As I am sure everyone has heard by now, last week on the 46th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, New York’s governor, Andrew Cuomo, signed the Reproductive Health Act into law. This law, which is truly the opposite of it’s name, makes it legal to perform “medically necessary” abortions up to 40 weeks. It is truly appalling that a law legalizing the murder of innocent children has been applauded by so many in the name of “women’s rights.”

What’s even more interesting is how liberals are so interested in women’s rights but not the rights of the child in the womb. You see the Left marching for equality for all. What about equality for all including babies? They are people too from the moment of conception! Nothing will ever change that. Do liberals really think that they aren’t people at 39 weeks but then once they are born at 40 weeks, they are a person with rights? Ridiculous. Don’t even get me started on how they think a woman should have rights to their body, which includes murdering an innocent who they should be in fact be protecting. Yes, I agree they can have rights over their own body but a baby has his or her own body. Some babies have survived outside of the womb as early as 22 weeks, and yet they think it is okay for them to be murdered at that same gestation because they aren’t a person yet?! That’s truly absurd.

Not only does this new law allow abortion up to 40 weeks in case the health of the mother is at risk or the baby is not viable, it also allows medical professionals who are not doctors to perform abortions.1 How stupid is that?!

Since when is it a smart idea to put a mother through a 2-3 day abortion procedure instead of just delivering the baby by emergency c-section if it truly is an emergency and allowing the baby to live? Killing the child is the worst thing you can do for a mother’s health. Any mother that has lost a baby knows that losing a child is like losing a piece of their heart. Why would anyone want to put a mother through that much pain just to try to save the mother’s life. It just doesn’t make sense. There are no illnesses out there that call for killing the baby instead of delivering it healthy! There is absolutely no reason to kill a perfectly innocent and healthy baby in the name of the mother’s health.

There is never a reason to kill a baby in the name of the mother’s health, never!

Even if doctors have said the baby is not going to survive outside the womb, or will be disabled, there is still no reason to kill the child. There have been so many instances where doctors told mothers their child would be severely disabled and/or would never live after he/she was born. But you know what happened in many of these instances? The parents chose to spend as much time with their baby as possible. Some of these babies were born with no disabilities at all and healthy as can be and some lived way longer than doctors said they would. The parents were grateful for every single minute they got to spend with their innocent child as well! Do people really think God gave them this child so they could murder him or her instead of letting the baby live out their life and die a natural death thought it may be short? As much as they are treated liked gods, doctors aren’t always right! It just proves how God is always in control. We just have to trust in Him!
I just can’t see how people can be okay with murdering innocent children in the name of having a choice. Some people have said it is merciful to abort a disabled baby so they don’t have to live a life in pain. Putting an innocent baby through the excruciating pain of abortion doesn’t seem merciful at all to me. Has anyone seen the procedures they use to abort? I literally can’t even look at some of the graphics that show them, they are just so horrendous. Either they inject the child with a drug that causes them an excruciatingly painful death or they deliver the head and snip the spinal cord. Does that sound merciful at all? No, absolutely not. Bald eagles have more rights at this point than innocent children!

I don’t even understand the part of the law that allows medical professionals that aren’t doctors to perform abortion procedures. That just seems like pure stupidity to me. Abortion procedures already carry such a huge risk of injury and death, why would any woman want a “medical professional” who is not an OBGYN trained in surgery. That just seems like an even higher risk of infection, injury, and death.

I’m sure its partly because some women think it’s their only option and will do whatever it takes to “get rid of a problem.” Sometimes, they think they can’t handle a new baby, or they say their parents would disown them(like in the case of unwed mothers), or they think they just can’t afford a baby. I think we need more support for mothers in cases like these. There is absolutely never a reason to abort a child. Every life is a gift. God gave that baby life for a reason and He always provides. It’s important for families and parents to offer support and not judgement in a mother’s time of need. There are also so many pregnancy centers out there who are willing to help. I just wish more people realized that is what they are there for and they do really help! They offer classes, baby items, financial support, whatever it takes to help mothers in an unplanned pregnancy.

In the case of unwed mothers, especially as Catholics, we can’t keep being so judgmental of these cases. Yes, the mother and father made have had a lapse in judgment and did something that is against the laws of their Faith but that doesn’t mean their baby should suffer for it. It’s not the innocent child’s fault and the baby doesn’t deserve to be punished because of the sin of the parents. Everyone knows that God is merciful and will forgive those who ask to be forgiven. And anyone that is a Catholic knows that abortion is means for an automatic excommunication from the church since it is such a grave sin. What’s even worse is NY governor Cuomo is supposed to be a Catholic, yet like many other politicians, he chose to make a decision that benefits him politically instead of staying true to his Faith. I’m not sure he can even be called a Catholic anymore, and like many Catholic authorities have urged, I think he should be excommunicated for legalizing murder of the innocent.

If you have gotten this far, congrats and thank you for listening to my ranting. I just couldn’t stay silent when people think it’s okay to murder innocent children in the name of choice and “women’s health.” Yes, sometimes children may be born into bad situations and end up in foster care but they still deserve a chance at life. There is always adoption as well! Some couples aren’t able to have children and would love to foster and adopt those children who need homes. Those couples I know who are fostering and looking to adopt have been the greatest blessings to their dear foster child and their foster/adoptive children have been such a blessing to them!

I can’t imagine what these same couples who wish they could have children of their own are even thinking after this terrible law. It is truly a stab in the heart to those with infertility problems and those who have suffered miscarriages. They would love to have a child of their own in their arms and can’t imagine any child being unwanted and disposed of in the name of choice. Even those with big families feel the same way. Yes, sometimes a baby doesn’t come at an ideal time for the parents but they know that God sent that baby for a reason and that He will always provide for them. There is no reason to reject another little blessing.

Life is truly a gift. I just had to write something after hearing about the abominable abortion law passed last week in NY. Although they drive me crazy sometimes, I can’t imagine my life without our little blessings. They may be one of the reasons it’s taking me many hours to write this and the reason why my thoughts are all over the place, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. We have truly been blessed and I wonder what it would be like if all those innocent lives destroyed by Roe v Wade were here today. Abortion kills more than three thousand people every single day! Maybe one of those children who was aborted was going to find the cure to cancer, maybe another was going to be an instrumental figure in world peace. I guess we will never know.

All I do know is we have to trust in God. I think that’s one of the big problems in the world today. Very few believe in God. Without God, nothing is possible. He puts every person on earth for a reason. If more people would realize this, then the world would be a much better place. I doubt God put innocent babies in people’s lives just for them to be aborted. He may be merciful but I doubt He thinks it would be merciful to kill an innocent child whom He placed in the world. It truly is disgusting how immoral the world is today and makes me wonder what it would be like if everyone just had God in their lives.

Don’t even get me started on the use of aborted babies in vaccines. That’s a whole other can of worms. Many of the vaccines that children receive today contain the cells of aborted children.2 (Insert crying emoji here a million times.)

Well there you go. If you wanted to know my thoughts on abortion, now you know. And if not, well now you know too, haha. Yes, I know people don’t agree with me, hence the whole reason this atrocious law was passed. But so many do agree, especially my fellow Catholics. Don’t stop fighting the good fight and fighting for the lives of the innocent. Life is the right of every child, no matter how small. I know I will be fighting for their lives as long as I live, will you?
